With our new release once again we are excited to share some powerful new features introduced at Yodiz. One of the major change from UX perspective is changing behavior of Mouse over quick menus to “On Click”. Let’s have a look what is new at Yodiz.

 

Short Summary of new features

  • Tagging Support: Now it’s possible to tag, user stories, issues, tasks and epics.
  • Insert Media: Embed images into description (Details section) through file selection and drag n drop.
  • Sprint Analytics: On Sprint board, all of the statistics are now moved under “Sprint Analytics” view, it is more comprehensive view with better experience.
  • ID and Tag Search support: Quick search boxes at Issue Tracker and Product backlog now supports both ID, simple text and Tag search. To search tag simply use #tagname and for id just give the ID like “1234”.
  • Menu options on On Click: Previously most of top navigation and context menus were opening on “Mouse Over” event however after lot of feedback and studies we decided to change behavior to “On Click”, so now to open top navigation or context menu you first need to click it.
  • Integration with more tools, HappyFox and Freshdesk.
  • Release of new Yodiz Chat.
  • Rich Text support at comments.
  • Support of “Definition of Done” for Sprints.
  • New status “In Verification” at User Story.
  • Jenkin integration with Yodiz: It’s in beta so drop us email at support@yodiz.com if you want to try out.
  • Some other bug fixes/enhancements at Velocity Graph, Burndown chart, Export CSV, Duplicate functionality etc.

 

Tagging Support

Tags are well supported at Yodiz now. You can add, edit, delete and search items with tags.

Adding Tags

Tags can be added to issues, user stories, tasks and Epics. When creating or editing items you can add the tags. Existing tags are shown in autocomplete box while you are typing the tag name.

View Tags

Tags are visible on widgets for issue tracker and User Story. For tasks on Sprint view tags are shown when you click on tags icon.

Search Tags

You can search items associated to tags. Simply type #tagname in search text box and the items will be displayed. You can also search multiple tags, simply type tag name with # and press enter. Once your search criteria is ready click on search icon next to search text box and results will be displayed.

Insert image into Details section

Simply click on “Insert Media” button on Rich Text editor or Drag n Drop image onto Rich text editor and image will be embedded inside the details section. Important thing to note is to remember to click inside Rich Text area to specify the cursor position to insert image at.

FreshDesk & HappyFox integrations

You would now be able to configure FreshDesk & HappyFox integration with Yodiz. Customer reported tickets at these tools can easily be imported into Yodiz with ability to create Issue or User Story. You can access these integration pages under “More” menu.

 

Redmine Import through API

We now introduced ability to import issues into Yodiz through Single Click using Redmine API. Import Data option is available under “Project Settings”. Please note that Project Settings can only be accessible by Project Admins and Super Admins. It is designed this for security reasons. Sprint Analytics View & Definition of Done

All the statistics, Burndown chart, Velocity Chart and other things are moved to new view called “Sprint Analytics”. You can view this by clicking “Sprint Analytics” button on Sprint Board.

Sprint Analytics has dedicated section for “Definition of Done”. It is simple Rich Text field that can be used to specify Definition of Done criteria’s for Sprint, User story, issues etc.

Next Release Plan

We are very excited to share our next release plan. For last few months we have been working on faster, responsive and powerful Yodiz experience for Product Backlog, Sprint and Release Boards. We are aware that some of the current views didn’t have very smooth and fast Drag n Drop experience and few other limitations. We are now able to design very light weight front end experience with lightening fast performance. For example, Product Backlog drag n drop would be 300% faster than now. Beside performance enhancements, we are adding some major User Experience improvements as well. There is going to be a MEGA Backlog board, where you would be able to view Product Backlog, Epics, Sprint Backlog and Release Backlog in different panels. All the panels have multi-select Drag n Drop enabled, so you could quickly select any number of items from Product Backlog and drop to Sprint Backlog column opened in next panel. Similarly, Sprint and Release boards will have excellent User experience with Drag n Drop performance similar or better than tools like Trello. We are targeting to create an awesome experience and hopefully will achieve that. We will be sharing more details with some screen shots quite soon.
